Kailan kaya nagawa ang telebisyon? I really don’t know the exact date. One of the hard core technology that really influenced the humanity is the television. Television really influenced the person.

During my childhood days, I used to watch television and I remember that I am an addict person when it comes to watching television. I love to watch cartoons during those time. Until I become a high school student. I was still an addict. The automaticity of my body pulling me to watch.

I think that the title that I made here is a negative impact sa television. Watching televion makes man to become passive, and lazy. Passive because it’s a waste of time instead of making other work or working for the betterment of their life. But they stock in their chair sitting and eating food that can cause increasing of fat.

Television is bad especially for the children, because they will use to watch until they grow in the society.

Film viewing is my space

One of the characteristics of the Filipino is to watch television that would make them updated in all information and to entertain themselves watching together with their families, relatives or even friends. Television is limited in matter of its size. That is why people are searching for other things that would make themselves more enjoy and happy……………… that is why, most of the malls, especially SM malls are having cinemas and there are many movies, there is foreign movies and Philippine movies. As a seminarian, we are not allow to go out of the seminary just to watch ‘Sine’ especially when we are having our school days. that is why our formators are allowing us to watch updated movies coming outside here inside the seminary.

Only Saturday is the day of watching or having film viewing. In the movies that we are watching there are many lesson that can be used and apply in our life especially when we watch the film the pursuit of happiness. That story was very nice and very interesting. We can see the reality of life as a man who doesn’t have a permanent job that caused of loosing all his love ones, he loosed his wife and he almost loosed his only beloved son. The very nice thing there was, he suffered so many days with the accompaniment of his son. They journey together while facing their difficulties in life. But he was persevering to have a job just to support his son, he persevere by means of studying from the beginning up to the end that he was appointed as one of the employee of the company. Before the beginning of his life he doesn’t know how to appreciate the happiness but when the time comes that he already achieved his goal that is the time that he appreciated happiness. The lesson in that movie is very applicable to all people who doesn’t have a permanent job.

I consider the fact that for us seminarians, film viewing is a space. We are given a better time to watch to enjoy and to be updated regarding the film outside our boundaries. But sometimes we are sad for sometimes we have limitations in viewing those films. But the important thing is we enjoy and we are still updated, and we learned a lot of things in the films that we enjoyed to watch.

Guess what?… It’s about media Literature

Do you have any idea about media literature? Its importance? its uses? and its advantage? Many of the students of today know the importance of media literature. And there are some people that are not yet properly oriented or should I say not yet aware regarding the importance of media literature in our Modern society. I believe that it is not necessary to know more about the course, but we need to consider the things that little by little the world is continuously changing, that there are many things are still developing and evolving.

Nowadays, as a student, I myself should be aware of learning regarding media literature. A person that is oriented regarding media literature knows how to use such as cellular phones, computers, internet access, and other high technologies.

We cannot avoid these things; I mean… even those people that are practicing poverty, there will be a time that we will be using these things. We absolutely need these things. Especially, in our present day that people need computers in order for them to present some formal papers, proposals, information, and so on and so forth.

Though there are advantages and disadvantages of these existing things. But I believe that people made these things for us to have fast access, fast messaging, fast delivery. Let’s just focus on the advantages, let’s appreciate the creativity of man. Man made these things for us to be called civilized society. And man contributed these things because, they don’t want us to be stock up from the nation that has no improvement regarding technologies.

What is the news today?

Thousands of people around the
Philippines are fond of reading newspapers especially those elderly ones. We see reading newspaper for those uneducated people are only non-sense. Those people are ignorant on the content of the newspaper. While for the youth of today, they fond of reading newspaper but only those selections that are very attractive to them either entertainment or sports not knowing the headlines which is the most important part of newspaper. There are many or I should say different intentions and purposes regarding the reading of newspapers nowadays. But the common thing there is to read and be informed.

In our seminary context, we have here our own newspaper. It is the Harvest wherein the seminarians, postulants and the religious are putting their reflections and articles. In the harvest we can also sight the updated or the recent activities that had happened before its publication (harvest). The seminary is giving importance regarding this material (the harvest), because it will provide updated news and information inside the institute. The readers of the harvest are the Benefactors, neighborhood, friends and also the family of the seminarian and the family of the Rogationist religious brothers and priest.

The Rogationist seminary is providing many copies to be distributed around the countries where Rogationist is present. Maybe, the seminary is providing thousands of copies just to provide all our families and supporters. It is so nice to have this material for our people. But today, the harvest is I should say not existing at this moment. It is always postponed regarding of its printing.

Big question will arise! How can we update the people? Maybe in our Modern society, we can provide through making personal Website exclusive for the benefactors, for those people who used to read “the harvest”. But I think that it will need much time for us to inform them that there is now an existing website for the readers of the harvest. The advantage of it, it is faster and it is faster than browsing the paper. But it should be organized according to its issues and articles.at this moment I’m thinking of its style. Good idea! I think every issue of the website ahould be updated… should change al least its themes, designs, pictures. And one thing the issue must be updated at least three months regarding the information of activities. But regarding the articles and reflections it should be a week of updating.

This is more nice, and we can save more money, we will not do any printing, instead we are just typing the articles and other materials for the people who continuously supporting us in our journey.

Radio as Immediate Provider

I remember during my childhood days, my grandfather was use to listen different kinds of music that comes from his radio. Because of that habit of listening in music, I inherited it. My idea of radio is limited in the sense that, the only purpose of the radio for me is the thing that could provide us music or sounds for to be entertained. Later on it provides me another idea, that the radio can provide us news update news of what is the recent situation of the world or the situation of our country. It just happened when my grandfather set the radio on the news station. When the first time that I heard those news and information, I found it very boring. Because during those childhood days it is very hard for me to appreciate news telecast and I don’t know the importance of the news in our life as people of the nation. Well, in the latter, little by little realizations are entering on my mind that it is very necessary to have radio not only the intention of having a particular gadget to be boast of by people or even to boast in our class. Before I used to listen the radio about the information regarding the sports, specifically basketball. For the reason that I used in gambling they call it ending. Anyway this is not focus on gambling. Though we don’t have television to watch the play, we can still relate because of radio’s information. Radio is our immediate provider for our needs of information. Information about the situation outside the country and most especially information about the new release music or song and MTV’s. Though there are more gadgets that are existing or even though there are gadgets will soon to be existed. Radio can be still the Immediate Provider of Information. I realized that nowadays there are gadgets that are commonly used. There is so-called. MP3, which can provide us hundreds or even thousands of selected songs. Another one is, MP4 which could provide not only music but also can provide music videos. And the expensive one, is the IPOD, the very expensive music video gadget that spreads through different country’s around the world. It influences many people and it also attracts people especially the young ones. As what I mentioned earlier, though these things are existing, Radio is still the immediate provider of the information. And radio can provide us unlimited information and can provide true information not only gossips. Though we are in the highest peak of the mountain, still radio can provide us plentiful information for us to be entertained.

Why MIRROR?

Is it so strange? How can we define mirror on its deepest sense? I believe mirror can be define by its natural essence, and natural usage… mirror makes reflection that can able to see the physical opposite of self… i posed that MIRROR for the reason that…. i’m a kinda reflective person in a sense that people cannot easily see the real existence of my beingness. and people cannot easily see the transcendence, the silence and the tranquility of my heart…. because of this blog people can able to appreciate the real me… an from this blog i can able also to express the expressions that comes from the inner core of my heart.. this can help me to reflect more for my chosen vocation…. however, with this…. i am faithfully inviting you father to visit my blog… and this blog is very much available to those people who wish to see my MIRROR!

Pobre Kaayo Ko BAy!…. It is only in prayer that I could feel the richness of the only one I know who is so rich beyond compare. he is my God. and prayer should not just be external, it should include the interior silence neccessary to listen to the voice of the Good Shepherd who said; “I know my sheep and my sheep knows me. they listen to my voice.” I feel so poor because I realize without listening to the voice of the one who called me and sent me, I could not be able to do anything. I am talented man and knows some things that I could contribute in my community. but how would I blend all the things that I know in order to touch the heart of God’s people? this is the thing that I do not know and it is only through the Spirit of God that I could know what He wills for His people.
It is true, it is very difficult to pray when you have many things to accomplish and many things to be done during the day.
When I pray I ask the questions I meet in my journey. Questions that do not neccessarily need answers but should be asked and reflected in silence and tranquility. we can not answer all the questions of life, but we can reflect on them and allow the Holy Spirit to bring us to that inner peace and joy in his presence.
I am poor but God in his abounding richness and goodness did not forsake me. now i stand in awe, and wonder how God works in a vessel He created broken because of sin. But as he promised, he would always transform the vessel tarnished by the stain of sin into a wonderful vase ready to attract and inspire others and bring them to his presence.
As i continue my journey, I asked for the grace of God to continue inspiring me. it is in there that I am able to meet Him in the silent cry of my heart, that my prayers are blessed with the abundance of His Holy Spirit.
Pobre Kaayo Ko Bay! Yes! I am poor but I have no regrets that God created me this way because my task is to magnify the richness inmy own poverty. I am poor, but can I say…. I am blessed? hehehehe! God’s WISDOM and LOVE answer this for me and I am not at all worried for I am not blessed by being able to know, to pray, to serve and to love the One who is the riches of all….. Have a Blessed day to all… Amen.
